Bexar County Probate

Bexar County, Texas Probate Information

Bexar County Probate

With over two million people calling it home, Bexar County is the fourth most populous county in the state of Texas. With such a lrge number of people, it’s no surprise to learn that Bexar County has a large number of probate cases.

While Texas probate laws carry similarities throughout the state, each probate case is handled in their respective county. Because of this, it is important to understand the differences in how probate cases are handed in each county.

Bexar County Probate Courts

Bexar County is one of several Texas counties that have at-least one statutory probate court. These courts hear exclusively probate and guardianship cases and cases related to probates and guardianships.

The information for the two Bexar County Probate Courts can be found below.

  • Probate Court 1
    • Judge Oscar J. Kazen
    • 100 Dolorosa Room 117, San Antonio, TX 78205
    •  (210) 335-2546
  • Probate Court 2
    • Judge Veronica Vasquez
    • 100 Dolorosa Room 123, San Antonio, TX 78205
    • (210)335-2678

While the judges for both of these probate courts have agreed to the Bexar County Local Court Rules, each judge has their own manner of operating their court and for hearing cases. What works for one statutory probate court in Texas, might not work in a statutory probate court in Bexar County.

So you have to consult the local rules and then know the procedures for each court. This is why it often helps to hire a probate attorney who regularly handles cases in the Bexar County probate courts.
